This exciting program is designed to welcome new ACS families and help them connect with other families throughout the year. Welcoming our new families helps them to feel like part of our community, right from the beginning.
What does a host family do?
Reach out to their "new" families before the beginning of the school year
Be available to answer questions (that for some reason they might not want to ask the office or teachers)
Get to know each other, and share valuable information about the school. In the past some host families met before school started
Plan to meet your assigned family/ies at the Back to School BBQ
Touch base with families a few other times throughout the year (explain Halloween Happening & other school events)
For many, particularly those who are new to the Albuquerque area, an ambassador family can really make the integration into our school much easier.
