4th Grade Social Justice Project

The Annunciation fourth graders brainstormed odd jobs they could do at home or for neighbors, relatives, and family friends, then did those jobs and earned money. They brought the money to school and the parents drove them on a field trip to Target where they purchased household supplies. Their purchases will be donated through Catholic Charities to local families in need, many of whom are refugees who have recently arrived in the area as well as some homeless families.

The Results...
Total money earned: 4A $673.94 + 4B $646.35 = $1320.29

With this money, the 4th graders purchased:

16 blankets

123 rolls of toilet paper

50 tubes of toothpaste

19 bottles of laundry detergent

24 bottles of lotion

62 bottles of shampoo

37 pillows

72 boxes of tissue paper

60 sticks of deodorant

18 shower curtains

20 packs of shower curtain rings

Change leftover to donate: $115.75 + $45 Target gift card = $160.75
