ACS Callisto City is the winner of the 2021 New Mexico Regional Virtual Competition. The winning team, along with another two teams from Annunciation School, competed for the top positions in a preliminary Q&A on February 13,2021. Callisto City made it to the top five and advanced to a finals round on February 14th, then won the Regional Virtual Future City Competition and will be representing our school and the state of New Mexico on March 6, 2021 at the National Future City Virtual Competition held at ACS.
The theme for this years competition is: Living on the Moon, in 100 years. Each team wrote a research paper about two moon resources used to keep their citizens safe and healthy, futuristic technologies that engineers will develop for transportation, agriculture, communication, health, and solid waste disposal. Then they developed a team plan with goals and check points, designed a slideshow, built a city model out of recycled materials, and presented to judges, virtually.
