Mrs. Borkstrom grew up in Albuquerque and graduated from St. Pius X High School before heading to St. Mary’s College of California for her BA in English. After a few years with APS as an assistant and substitute teacher, she took a detour into broadcasting—because talking into a microphone is almost as fun as teaching middle schoolers!
She joined ACS in January 2019 and now teaches 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English (Reading and Writing). While at ACS, she also earned her Catholic School Administration Certificate from Loyola Marymount University.
A longtime parishioner of Annunciation, Mrs. Borkstrom is deeply connected to the ACS community—not just as a teacher, but also as a proud parent. Her daughter, an ACS alum, is now studying at Creighton University in Omaha. When she’s missing her, her students bring the joy and energy she needs.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys time with her family (husband and two dogs) and recording voiceovers from their home studio for clients across the country. (Yes, she really likes to talk!) Her hope is that every student who enters her classroom leaves with a love for reading, writing, and maybe even a few grammar jokes they didn’t know they needed.
