Heidi Evans was born and raised in West Springfield, Massachusetts. After graduating from high school in Michigan, she spent four years in the U.S. Army followed by seven years in the New Mexico National Guard. Mrs. Evans graduated from the University of New Mexico with a B.S. in Elementary Education and completed her Masters of Reading through Grand Canyon University in 2020.
The 2020-2021 marks Heidi’s 20th year in the classroom. She began her teaching career in 1995 at Our Lady's Assumption Catholic School in Albuquerque. After moving to Arizona in 1998, she continued teaching at Queen of Peace Catholic School in Mesa, AZ for three years followed by six years teaching in the Gilbert Unified School District in Gilbert, AZ. After moving back to Albuquerque in 2013, she spent six years teaching in the Los Lunas Schools district. Her desire to return to teaching in Catholic schools brought her to Annunciation Catholic School in 2019.
Heidi has been married to her husband Tim for 16 years and they have two sons, TJ and Joey. She enjoys cooking, hiking, spending time with family and reading.
