Mrs. Maestas was born in Illinois and went to school at North Central College in Naperville, IL where she earned her BA in 2008. She went back to school in 2019 and received her teaching license through Corporative Education Services in the LEAP program (Leading Educators through Alternative Pathways). She earned a Master of Education through the University of the Southwest in 2022. This is her fifth-year teaching.
She believes that learning is accomplished through socialization, play, and sparking creativity, but is also accomplished through paying attention, understanding right from wrong, and identifying the difference between playtime and work time. She has high expectations for her students that are developmentally appropriate.
Ms. Maestas has been married for 14 years and has three children, two dogs and three chickens. She loves outdoors, learning new things, photography and enjoys time with her family. She travels to Chicago, IL to see family and visit the Windy City.
